It’s official. Star Trek hunk Chris Pine will be stepping into the role of CIA analyst Jack Ryan- a character Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck have all helped bring to the big screen.

“With Chris in this role, we've taken our first step in creating a re-boot that lives up to the successful lineage of the franchise," Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman said on Tuesday.
The role, which is based on the Tom Clancy novels, was first filled by Baldwin in 1990’s Hunt for Red October before Ford took over the role in 1992 and 1994 in the memorable blockbusters Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger. Affleck did his turn as Ryan in 2002’s The Sum of All Fears.
The script is still in production and no word on whether or not Pine will shoot the Star Trek sequel before becoming the CIA agent.

The Invention Of Lying star admitted to to Jay Leno Monday night that her current job in Boston is not the most glamorous of roles. Besides promoting the Ricky Gervais directed film, she has currently set up home base in Boston with Ben and their two daughters while Ben works on his latest writing and directorial effort The Town. After enrolling their 3 year-old daughter Violet in the same co-op pre-school Ben attended as a child, she found out the co-op stands for cooperative in which the parents run the school and apparently the janitorial duties too -- much to her surprise. "So I work at the pre-school. It's a lot of toilet scrubbing. It's a lot of taking the snacks."

Blake Lively is branching out, making the jump from TV to the big screen by landing a role in The Town.
The Gossip Girl star will join Ben Affleck, Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Rebecca Hall and Jeremy Renner in the flick, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie is an adaptation of the novel Prince of Thieves and the action follows a bank manager, a career criminal and an FBI agent.
The new season of Gossip Girl premieres Sept. 14 on the CW and shooting for The Town starts next month also.

Good Will Hunting stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are reunited and it feels so good--both men turning up for charitable poker tournament Ante Up for Africa.
Held at Las Vegas' Rio Hotel & Casino, the men got to play a hand with fellow Oceans star Don Cheadle, as well as funnywoman Sarah Silverman and actor Brad Garrett.
Much speculation over the past year has said Damon and Affleck will collaborate on another screenplay, a follow up to their Academy Award-winning Hunting.
Both have been quite busy with acting careers and families of their own.

Brian Grazer’s Hollywood-Size Divorce

He’s the producer of some of the biggest movies in Hollywood, including the new Angels & Demons, and TV series, including 24 but Brian Grazer is a whole lot poorer today following the dissolution of his marriage to Gigi Levangie-Grazer.

Conveniently, the couple had a pre-nup so dividing up the wealth went fairly smoothly.
Brian has already paid Gigi, a screenwriter-turned author whose credits include The Starter Wife, $8.75 million for the purchase of a primary residence for she and their sons Thomas, 9 and Patrick, 5.
Brian still has to cough up another $4.5 million in cash to Gigi, and they have to sit down and split up their wedding gifts which ironically are still in storage from their 1997 nuptuals.
The Grazers will share legal and physical custody of their sons, with a schedule that includes alternating weekends, and pre-set spring break, summer vacation and holiday arrangements.
Brian will also be writing out monthly child support payments, $25,000 for Patrick and $15,000 for Thomas.
Dad will additionally be paying for the kids’ private school tuition and medical expenses.
But there’s more!
Brian has to pay a total of $475,000 for Gigi’s legal fees, and $488,777 in retroactive support.
And in one of those only in Hollywood tales, the Grazers former family home has been sold to another superstar couple.
The new owners are none other than Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, who got a divorce steal.
They reportedly paid $11.5 million for the Pacific Palisades estate which was originally listed at $2 million higher.
Hopefully they’ll have a happier time there than the Grazers did.

With their brood recently added to, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have settled on a new nest for their adorable family. The couple are giving up their current digs for a sprawling spread in the celebrity haven of the Pacific Palisades (where else can you have Steven Spielberg and Adam Sandler as neighbors!).
