Gwyneth Paltrow has just signed on to play Nicole Kidman's wife in the upcoming film, The Danish Girl, but the story ironically has nothing to do with same sex marriage.

Nicole starts out in the movie as a married man who discovers he's meant to be a woman when his artist wife -- Paltrow -- asks him to put on a dress and heels and stand in for an absent female model. Paltrow's character sticks with her husband for years as he goes through the entire transsexual transformation, including sex change surgery.

The story seems especially timely in light of Chastity Bono's recent transsexual transformation into Chaz Bono.

Paltrow's character finally leaves Kidman when she realizes the husband she loved no longer exists.
